Primaz

The west wing of the “Paço Arcebispal Bracarense”, built by D. Agostinho de Jesus, faces Largo D. João Peculiar. It was from here, on a balcony, that this archbishop watched the processions in the city. The central coat of arms of this building reads: “. Agostinho de Jesus, Arcebispo de Braga e Primaz das Espanhas”. This is the title of the prelate of the Archdiocese of Braga.
